Home / Exterior painting
Outside, and ready for winter.
Siding, trim, porches, and shutters. We wash, scrape, and prime first, and we keep an eye on the weather.
The whole outside of the house.
- Siding: wood, fiber cement, aluminum, and stucco
- Trim, soffit, and fascia
- Porch ceilings, posts, and railings
- Shutters and front doors
- Scraping and sanding loose paint
- Caulking gaps so water stays out
- Priming every bare spot

The order matters.
Outside paint lasts because of the prep. Washing, scraping, and priming take the most time, and they matter the most.
Wash it
Dirt and mildew come off first. Paint won't stick to a dirty wall.
Scrape and sand
Loose and peeling paint comes off. We sand the edges smooth so they don't show.
Prime and caulk
Bare spots get primer and gaps get caulk. This is what makes the paint last.
Paint, and watch the sky
Two coats. We plan around the sun and rain so the paint dries right.
About this kind of job.
When can you paint outside?
Usually April through October. Paint needs the right weather to stick. If it's too cold or wet, we'll tell you it's worth waiting.
What if it rains?
We stop and cover things up. Rain can push back the finish date. We'll keep you in the loop.
Do you power wash?
Yes. We use the right pressure for your siding, because too much can hurt old wood.
How long will it last?
It depends on how much sun and weather your house gets. When we come look, we'll tell you what we see.
